Seawind Catamarans has been nominated for a SAIL Magazine Best Boats award 2017 for their small cruising catamaran – the 1160 Lite. The boat will be on display at the Annapolis Boat Show from October 6th to 10th, 2016.
This will be the largest ever display by Seawind and Corsair Marine at the Annapolis Boat Show, with 4 boats on display. Other models at the show include the Seawind 1190 Sport, the Corsair Cruise 970 trimaran, and the exciting Corsair Pulse 600.
The 1160 Lite is unique among catamarans on display – primarily in its sailing ability, and its use of 2 outboard engines – both easily accessible in their engine bays, providing a lower maintenance, lower cost propulsion solution. Crew can easily flip up the outboards to reduce drag to the minimum, keeping this Seawind true to its performance heritage, while using outboards also means greater internal storage space (crucial on cats of this size).
Sales Manager, Shane Grover comments: “Not to mention the practical advantages in terms of cost and maintenance, of course this 1160 Lite version also means a much lighter boat! We think that extra pace will appeal to the performance-conscious market in the Chesapeake and Eastern US. This boat is coming to Annapolis at just the right time.”
