1. Why is there no carbon boom, canoe boom option?
The park avenue boom is something we fit for the Seawind 1600 – which has an even larger mainsail of course. But the “haystack” – otherwise called “Boom Bensons” will be standard on the 1370. That will take the weight of the sail and aid getting the sail flaked correctly – or even getting in there to tidy up reefs, etc.

2. How accurate are the Polar’s?
I believe they should be accurate. so far all our weight estimates have been checked agaist the designers weight estimates and we have been getting the same numbers.

3. The current Seawind 1160/1260 have a reputation of being very tough and stiff boats with very little creaking (or none). How would you rate the 1370 with this new building technique?
As we mentioned in webinar #1, the 1370 will be a typical Seawind in that it’s stiff and strong without the unnerving creaking.

4. Will that sail drive component be sufficient for adding OceanVolt electric motors?
Right now we’re not offering Oceanvolt as an option on this boat. But it’s also fair to say we have future-proofed the engine rooms and battery space. So if one day we get a great hybrid – where the drive is connected to a small combustion engine in-line, we’ve got some space. In the short term, the hybrid options haven’t really met our requirements. But we are conscious of future-proofing the boat.

5. Is there a fridge in the galley, or is that freezer near the nav station going to be the only refrigeration?
There is a separate fridge. This is located under the very end of aft galley countertop finger. The freezer is a dedicated freezer. We also have the option for the cockpit icebox under the helm seat that can be converted to an additional fridge/freezer.

6. Will there be an option for 1 sink?
Actually – we have worked up 1 sink. But keep in mind the big side of the sink is really big. We do have a drawing for 1 sink however it only worked if you took the Corian option. We needed to cut the Corian to custom shape for a single sink.

7. Are you considering galley down option?
No – When Mike and Shane talked about the hulls part, you would see that we’ve got really exciting plans for the hulls. But it wouldn’t fit the galley.

8. Do you have an estimate for the added weight of the Corian yet?
Yes – it was about 130kg

9. With the carbon coach roof - can you explain color and if black - wouldn’t you expect it to be hot?
The roof itself is a tinted gelcoat. You won’t see a visible difference with the carbon roof. By the way, on the computer screen the tinted gelcoat roof looks darker than it would be in reality. It will be hotter than white – but not much.

10. Is there any storage under the floors?
Yes – there is storage in the Forward cabin floor. We have not shown it in the renders. They are pull-out sections/hatches.

11. It seems that there is an obvious tradeoff of space between the freezer area and the nav station. Has any thought been given to reducing the space of the nav station in order to increase freezer size? Also, is there a fridge in the galley, or is that freezer near the nav station going to be the only refridgeration?
There is a separate fridge. this is located under the very end of aft galley countertop finger. the freezer is a dedicated freezer. we also have the option for the cockpit ice box under the helm seat that can be converted to an addtinal fridge/freezer.

12. Is engine access external only?
No. There is also a removable hatch in both sides of the interior for greater access.

13. Bed size?
Length (mm) | Width (mm) | |
Starboard Fwd Cabin Bunk Mattress Size | 2,000 | 1,540 |
Starboard Aft Bunk Mattress Size | 1,990 | 1.360 |
Port Fwd Cabin Bunk Mattress Size | 2,100 | 1,600 |

14. Could your designers consider the size of 7ft long surf board bags for a possible storage location inside boat?
There is a large area under the starboard aft bunk that a surfboard would fit. This area has been designed to be flexible with the storage available.

15. What are the other bench top items in the galley next to the sinks?
There is a storage rack (for spices and small items) and a 3-burner stove.

16. Would it be possible to have a small salt water faucet in the galley?
Yes – that’s already an option on our options list, #13106.

17. Is the foam core of the laminate core-cell? Is it thermo-formed? or scored/bent w/ filler?
We are using Diab brand foam core. It is a mixture of plain sheet, customised slit cut foam to optimise the resin absorption. We have been working with Diab and this has been 3D computer designed to best fit the shape and the least amount of slits and only in areas where needed.

18. Do you need a generator for the washer/dryer?
No – You don’t need the generator as the washer will run off the inverter.

19. Any concern of heat transfer from the washer to the black water tank?
No – The tank is well sealed off so any heat would not transfer to the tank.

20. Will this be a split phase system for 110V markets?
Yes – the US boats will be 240 volt split phase. This will be the standard set up.

21. What is the approximate deadline for finalizing options. For example, if I have a build slot scheduled to finish in Nov 2022, when would I need to finalize options by?
You really want to have everything sorted well before the boat goes into production. Otherwise, there’s a chance that long lead-times with suppliers might mean you don’t get everything you want. So December 2021 would be the time for you.

22. Is there a standard barbecue or is it all optional?
It is all optional. You must select the option, and then choose a plancha, or grill. (flat griddle, or grill grid)

23. Shouldn't the MPPT regulators be split across port to starbord because one side could be shaded by the boom?
The solar panels are paired and then wired in parallel so it doesn’t matter which panels are shaded, the other panels will still keep working. Only the pair that is shaded will reduce input power.

24. Can you walk on the panels?
Yes – they’re all the flexible, flush panels.

25. Will the back rest be able to be flipped for reverse sitting?
The back rest will be similar to the Seawind 1260 model. So yes, you will be able to flip this to sit either front or back.

26. Could you put a fridge and an ice maker under the starboard helm seat?
Yes – the icebox can be optioned into a fridge and an ice maker can also be added in this space outboard of the icebox.

27. Above the line bin, there appears to be a lazarette with hinges. What is that for?
Yes – this is a second rope locker. This is on both helms. There are also side pocket rope lockers.

28. Can you walk through the lightning protection system?
You have two big grounding plates in the hulls and a lightning rod up the mast. It is quite heavy, and it’s a very basic, physical system. This is not an electronic blocker. It’s enhanced grounding for a cat which doesn’t have a big lead keel.

29. How does one “change gears” with the Gori propellers? Is it done with RPM changes?
Actually, the gear change happens by fully moving in the opposite direction. So you actually need water flow over the prop in reverse to then go forward into overdrive – being in overdrive from then on. You go forward, then you put it in reverse and reverse a little before going forward again.

30. Is there any storage under the floors?
Yes – there is storage in the Forward cabin floor. We have not shown it in the renders. They are pull-out sections/hatches.

31. Can you close off the owner’s hull to the saloon? Is there a slider, or other door there?
Yes – there is a door for the owner’s cabin.

32. Will there be floor storage in the galley?
Unfortunately, no – since the floors are very close to the windeck.

33. Is there a watertight bulkhead in the front sail store locker as shown in the section?
Yes – there is a watertight bulkhead fwd of the sail locker.

34. Larger alternators provide how many amps?
The alternators are 150amp at 24V each, so these are very powerful (consider this would be 300A at 12v).

35. Will there be any storage under the saloon seats - like on 1260/1160?
There is some storage under seats. A lot is used for electrical systems, batteries, etc. It depends a lot on how many options and which you choose as to how much space is left. Even if you got every option there is still available space.

36. For the lightning protection option, do you have a solid clean (no sharp bends) connection from mast to copper plates on the hulls?
Yes, the wiring in accordance with the Australian commercial vessels standards is run in as direct path as possible with no harsh bends (as they can arc).

37. Are the two LP tanks there to supply both the BBQ and the galley cooktop? How many gals per bottle?
Yes – these two tanks are for the BBQ and actually the entire system. They are 4.5kg each and have the same size as the ones we use in Seawind 1260.

38. Are the electric winchs 2 speed?
No – the Lewmar ones are 1-speed. You’ll need the upgrade to Harken Radials to get the 2-speed. Reversible is also available.

39. I plan to have an electric motor outboard for the dinghy. Will there be power outlets near the transom for charging option?
Outside AC outlets are an option that you buy – they are armoured connectors.

40. On the outside steps up to the roof do you have a count of the number steps and the rise per step?
There are two steps up at the front, and an additional single step on the aft pillar, just to provide multiple options to step up.

41. If you don't choose the liferaft option, will you be able to access that volume from the aft seat for storage?
Yes – if you don’t take the life raft then the box is removed, so you would gain some extra space. You can only access it via the seat locker hatch.

42. Will the anchor be able to be controlled from the helm?
Yes – the anchor windlass has a switch panel at the port helm.

43. Will there be an option to have pre-wiring and/or plumbing done for any options that could be installed at a later date?
For the generator and watermaker, this will be possible. Not the electronics but the plumbing can be pre-connected.

44. Is it possible to have five MPPTs? One for the two rear panels, one either side for the middle three panels and one either side for the two front panels. This is to reduce the shadow effect.
There is no advantage to have more solar chargers. It makes no difference at all to shading. I could have all panels going into one charger and if one panel was shaded then all the others will still keep working. It only matters how the panels are wired to the charger not the number of chargers. The charger does not care if one panel stops, it will happily still accept the power from all the others so long as the panels are not wired to each other before they get to the charger.
